Oh My God!!
He arrived at midnight last Tues night. Mike and I met the trailer coming up the driveway. What a thrill to see this magnificent creature for the first time. Even more spectacular then his pictures!!! He snorted and sniffed as he walked politely to his stall. His stall was next to a gelding and a mare. You guessed it, he went directly to the mare and made friends. We petted and stared and cried and laughed and instantly bonded with him until 3 in the morning. We Could hardly bare to leave his side. After arriving home I couldn't go back to sleep and I knew my life would be forever changed.
I had dreamed of having a Friesian for 12 years and my love, Mike has made my dreams come true.
He gave Foppe to me for an engagement present, not only Foppe but on Sat Mike surprised me with a "Fairy Tale" Engagement Party at the Emery Estates in Sonoma for family and a few close friends. I thought I was going to a wine tasting party when here it was a party for me. Moments after I walked in, "I Believe" by Brooks and Dunn came blaring out over the sound system filling the valley with anticipation, what was going to happen next? Then I see "My Little Petite Megan" coming through the vineyards leading Foppe. This was a site to behold.
This big bold beautiful animal was decked out wearing a black and gold braided blanket with Mikes' family crest and "Will You Marry Me" embroidered on the side. Mike carefully removed the blanket and attached to Foppes' long thick wavy mane was a bouquet of black and gold ribbons. Mike, ever so carefully plucked a 4 Karot Diamond Ring from his mane and on bended knee placed it on my finger asking me to marry him. I joyfully and tearfully said "YES". There were tears and cheers and pictures galore. Mike was leading Foppe in the center ring with me on his velvety black back. This was the first time I sat on his back and it was pretty exciting. Later we danced, ate and sipped wine and finished the evening with a lemon cake with black frosting in the shape of a Friesians' head.

Hi Janna,

We’re safely in WY and Hannes (Perrier) traveled like a true champion – a huge testament to Perrier's trainer in the Netherlands and her foundational work on him. As such a young horse I was really impressed with his manners EVERYWHERE. He loaded that trailer (step up) being led by a complete stranger with only the slightest emotional hesitation (no real refusal). And when we left from CA to WY he again showed us how high he could step up – really awesome! Our vet checked him today and he is doing great, no dehydration, good appetite and all vitals and temperature are good.

Rollo arrived safely in NY yesterday morning.

He was really well behaved the whole trip and remained calm coming off the trailer. His temperament is perfect. He is just what I was hoping for. Thanks for everything.I will be driving into Michigan tomorrow evening to meet him as he gets off the trailer. Can't wait! A Dutch trainer will be working with him for a month then he comes home. Thanks so much for everything!

Update... I absolutely love my new boy. He is everything you said he would be. He is so sweet, tries very hard to please, and is beautiful. I thank you for representing him honestly and helping me find the perfect match.

I keep saying it … but mean it – thank you for everything & putting up with my many questions.OMG … I’m sooooo excited – can hardly stand it.

“Ik hou van jou” – means I love you in Dutch---- I’m practicing so I can tell him.... Yes I’m goofy.  My husband has never been around horses so was very apprehensive. But … He is as much in love with Malibu as I am … his fears melted when Malibu gave him his first ‘horsey hug’, which he does a lot! Malibu is healthy, strong and doing very well. He watches for us and runs to the gate to greet us. He is amazing.

Hi Janna: Just wanted to touch in and let you know that Impuls arrived safe and sound the evening of August 8th. He was perfection!!! A beautiful animal with an even more beautiful spirit!!!! We are all in L-O-V-E. He settled in seamlessly and seems very content with his new home and all his new "brothers." He will have a home abundant with love, compassion, attention and exercise.
I am SO glad we found him. :-)
And, Felicia and Billy of Blew By U Horse Transportation were exceptional too. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a safe, professional and expedient hauler for their treasured equines.

It was a DELIGHT doing business with you. You honestly represent your horses, and are so informative and helpful, even months after the purchase!  i have purchased  horses before from another friesian farm, and honesty and integrity was NOT part of that equation:(

Update 2 yrs later.....Thank you to Black Sterling Friesian's for finding us our dream horse Bengel van de plumm. Bengal (aka:Romeo) w/ trainer Caroline Hoffman & coach Sabine Schut-Kery has won many first places w scores in the 70's in the open dressage circuit at training level this season. His last show first place at Flintridge riding club w a 73.8% score! We are so proud of our star and feel lucky to have found him at Black Sterling!!

Hope your 2015 is off to a good start! Just wanted to give you an update on Willem. We decided to make his first outing in 2014 the IFSHA World Championship show and he was named Reserve World Champion, the World Champion was another horse we have in training as well! We love Willem and completely agree with you that he has FEI potential. We adore his lofty trot and canter.

Roosevelt arrived a little after ten o'clock last night. As the hauler brought him off the trailer he was even more beautiful than I expected.

Even in the dark I could appreciate his beauty!

He was a bit nervous as I led him to his new home but he was trusting of me. He settled right in and nickered at the new neighbors.
