Congrats to Leah in Maryland!!! Janna & Ronald - Thank You very much for helping us find and purchase this very long awaited and beautiful horse. Leah, Romi, and I (and her mother) are all very excited about the arrival of Weit. I appreciate all of your time and patience. We are sorry that we will not be able to meet you in person, however, I'm sure that in time our paths will cross and we'll get out to see your incredible farm and your magnificent horses. Who knows, in the next year or two we'll probably be bothering you again for a second Friesian. Again, thanks for everything. Sincerely, Jonathan, Leah, & Romi in Maryland 2 years later............................................ Hi Janna, Just a quick picture of Weit and his girls. He is so sweet and beautiful. Looking forward to sending you pictures of Weit with his smallest and best friend on top. Thank you for making our "Fairytale Dream" come true. The Hodors in MD |

Congrats to Patti and Art in N.Y.!!!!!!!!! Dear Janna,
She is more beautiful in person. Her pictures do not do her justice. She has been fed, watered, brushed, out for a walk in the center paddock getting acquainted with everyone new. She is very vocal and darling. Thank you for her again and again. She is just so wonderful. Thank you is never enough for all your help. I hope you are doing well and give Ron a hello from me too. Everyone knows you are ethical and great to deal with.

Congrats to Susan in Hawaii!!!! Aloha, Janna! Just a quick note to let you know that Dotse's long journey to Hawaii ended happily early yesterday afternoon. He did very well on his road trip to LA, the layover, on the flight over, and the trip from quarantine to the stables. After a quick check by the vet, some brushing, and a walk around the indoor arena (where he kept wondering who the friesian was in the mirrors), he chowed down on dinner. This morning he had a chance to kick up his heels in the arena (and check out that friesian again...boy! He sure looks familiar... and good looking, too!), have a bath, chat with the other horses, and taste the local grass. What a doll Dotse is! I'm thrilled he's finally here so we can begin, what I know will be, an enduring friendship. Mahalo nui loa! Update... Aloha, Janna! It was great to talk to you at the Reno show and watch you win!! My sisters and I were cheering for you and Ron high up in the stands. I can't believe it's approaching 5 years since Dotse arrived in Hawaii, and almost that long since I've written with an update. Horse ownership has added new meaning to the word "busy." With a lot of patience from our trainer, Anna, I finally mustered the courage to show in Intro level this year. Pretty daunting task for a (still) very novice 58 year old. I was the nervous one - Dotse took it all in stride. Eight tests with eight blue ribbons. We were the last ride of the last show of the season and received a 77% - high score of the day. What a way to finish! I'm ready to hang up my too tight white breeches because I can't imagine we'll top that. I have to add that Intro takes place at the end of the day. When folks found out there was a Friesian showing they waited around just to see him. It was like being with a rock star. I promise not to wait another 5 years before getting in touch again. Congrats to London Hi Janna, I can't thank you enough for steering me towards Casper. He is everything you said he would be and more! He is truly amazing under-saddle, and we fit together like a hand in a glove. On the ground, he is the most well-behaved stallion anyone could hope for! My farrier told me he is the easiest horse he had EVER done work on. My trainer loves him, he is so eager to work! All my friends tell me he is the most beautiful horse they have ever seen in their lives...and of course I would have to agree with them! Casper is very happy with us, and I know that he and I were meant for eachother! Thanks again for bringing my dream to reality! I am sending a pic of us from our first ride together in his new home...See you at the shows! London |

Congrats to Karen in Michigan!!! Dear Janna, My beautiful boy was delivered this morning. He is FABULOUS!!!! He made the trip from NYC just fine. He seems to be settling in and is being introduced to the other horses one at time. I can't wait to ride him but want to give him some time to get some normal routine back in his life. You made the entire process very easy. Your agent called me Saturday to let me know he was on the way, then called me back late that night to let me know he made it in ok and was going over to quarantine and everything was fine. They even emailed me pictures of him and arranged the van for delivery too, for me. They made me feel very comfortable that he would be well taken care of until I had him home. Thank you for finding this glorious horse for me. Best regards, Karen in Michigan |

2 years later..................................
Janna, Just a short note letting you know how happy we are with our Friesian boy. D'Artagnon (AKA Ferdinant) was the horse that won the hearts of two important men in my life. The first was my father who has 50 years of horse training under his belt and the second being my husband who had never been around a horse in his 50 years of life. It had been over 30 years since I had been on a horse, so this was almost like starting over again. A few years ago, while I was visiting my dad at a horse show, I saw a Friesian walk by. I was immediately enamored with this breed. Altho I grew up around horses, my life as an adult led me in a different direction. I moved away from my home and parents, only to see them a few times a year. I made the comment to my father that if I was ever to have a horse that it would be a Friesian. During the next several months my father started calling me on a regular basis telling about different Friesians for sale. After several of these phone calls, he asked me if I was serious about buying a horse or not. I really had to stop and think. With my father around the corner of retirement and me between grown children and grandchildren, my window of opportunity was small. To actually have a shared interest with my father was a novel idea to me. So I said " Yeh, I guess so", not knowing how I was going to blend my life with my sailor fiance and having a horse at the same time. Our search ended with Black Sterling Stables, where we felt that we would have the greatest amount of quality horses to choose from all in one stable. I have never regretted my decision. Through this horse, I have been able to get to know my father and his beautiful wife. Through this horse, my now husband and father were also able to get to know each other. I've been able to grow as an individual, to face my fears and to overcome them a little at a time. All of these things are great, but nothing is as great as the feeling I get, when after a class, I hear those coveted words from my father, "Well done". Family Therapy at it's best! With gratitude, Chaleen and Gregory in Canada |

Congrats to Debbie Janna, I just want to compliment you on the quality of your website--the great quality of photos/videos - lots of detailed information about each horse--as well as the pricing info right there!! Its a frustrating, waste of time to inquire and have to wait on horse prices! All of these things, as well as you being so attentive and prompt and accessible......makes Black Sterling Friesians stand heads and shoulders above all others. You get an A+++ in the sales and marketing department. But, best of all---you have the widest variety of constantly changing quality inventory. I know there's alot of jealous people out there----scratching their heads wondering how you do it---in this small friesian world. How boring is it to go to a website regularly and see exactly the same horses for sale--with no updating. Thats what most sites have. Debbie |

Congrats to Paula and daughters Lauren, Sarah and Carolyn Janna, Aiejolt has competed at Woodside Dressage about 3 times and done very well. He also attend Pebble Beach in July and went up against higher level competiton. He came in 6th out of 32 on his last day. He is under training with Heidi McRae at McRae Stables at Portola Valley Training Center. He continues to progress under her care and it is my intent to have him compete as much as possible. Eventually I would love to put him in Fresian shows as well. He is a beautiful boy and draws attention wherever he goes. I hope all is well. Paula |

Congrats to Leagh in Vancouver Just wanted to let you know that Gerrit is doing wonderfully! He is such a gentleman, and is quite the "Barn Star" here. Thank you so much for everything you've done and just know that it was worth it all to me, as we are the happiest horse and rider team here in Canada! Many thanks, Leagh and Gerrit from Vancouver
Update.................... Just wanted to send you an update on Gerrit and I. He is doing wonderfuly! He is definately the "Barn Star" to the point that I think I must put up a "please do not feed my horse" sign. After all is said and done, we are the perfect match, he comes to me when I call him and joins up to my shoulder. At night we ride to the indoor facility that I have joined and he never skips a beat, the perfect gentlemen. The local dressage trainers here can't wait for me to "change my mind" about saddleseat....of course. Thank you so very much for all your help and patience with our purchase, trust me it was worth it!!! Many thanks, Leagh and Gerrit Gerrit, sold by BSF, was the 2006 Saddleseat Open Pleasure and Amateur National GRAND CHAMPION, as well as Baroque Gelding In Hand National Champion. Congrats to our Gerrit, and Leagh!!!!! |

Congrats to Charlene in Rhode Island!!! I can't begin to tell you how impressed I am with this horse.
The hauler led Wilco off the trailer and all he did was look around. No freaking out, no jumping up and down like we're used to with thoroughbreds, he just checked out the scenery. Charlene walked him to his stall, gave him some hay and it was like he'd been here all along. He is exquisite. Absolutely beautiful. I'm thinking we should have a suitable companion for him. And thank you so much for your impeccable taste in horses. Wilco will be with us forever. I just can't begin to tell you how incredibly happy we are with this big boy. We WILL be buying another horse from you Thanks again, Dean in Rhode Island |

Merry Christmas to Lotta in New York, on her 2nd friesian from us!! Hi Janna, You were absolutely right. Dingshoff is just about as stunning as a horse can get! I can't get over that John Travolta strut either! What conformation, head, ears, movement, he is just like poetry in motion and we have been doing nothing much but staring at him since he came here Saturday. His coat, tail and mane are just incredibly soft and shiny. Dingshoff is settling in nicely and he is truly the most magnificent animal that we have ever seen!!! Thanks a million for finding us another dream friesian! Lotta in New York |
