Congrats to Stephanie in Ohio! Janna, i wanted to thank you for taking the time to answer all of my questions about the Friesian breed and Marten specifically. Your knowledge of and dedication to Friesians was abundantly obvious and made me feel very comfortable about doing business with you. I have always dreamed of having a "fairytale" Friesian and Black Sterling Friesians has made that a reality!! Thanks so much:) Thank you for making my long time dream of owning one of these beautiful horses real. I am eternally grateful:) Stephanie in Ohio
Janna, Marten embodies everything I could every ask for in a horse. He is a willing partner, a quick study, docile, gorgeous, and even more that I can't put into words. Marten is 100% everything you said he was and more. I could not be more happy with this purchase, not only because he is my dream horse but because of the excellent service you provided. I will certainly return in a few years when we're ready to purchase the next Friesian. (I now know why people say Friesians are addictive!!) We really appreciate the opportunity to purchase such an amazing horse. Stephanie Update................. I have had horses for 8 years and have dreamed of owning a Friesian ever since I had the opportunity to sit on a stallion at Equine Affaire in Ohio 7 years ago : ) I recently purchased my first, an imported yearling colt, from Janna of Black Sterling Friesians. I'm absolutely in heaven. I have raised other colts, but his temperment can't be compared!! He is such a sweet and obedient boy. He is very responsive and a very quick learner. He spent the last 8 months in a field just being a horse but he acts like he was handled daily!! Stephanie in Ohio |

Congrats to Cheryl in Wisc.!! Good morning Janna!!! Nammen arrived, safe and sound, this morning around 8:00 a.m. our time. They had taken his blanket off because it was pretty warm in the trailer with 3 other horses. His fur is sooooo soft! He came off the trailer, 1,2,3 and began eating as soon as he got into his new stable. He drank and munched. He was in good shape. We'd like to find him a different "barn name" but nothing has popped into our heads yet. I want a perfect name that fits his personality. I promise to keep in touch, Cheryl in Wisc |

Look out Lexington Junior League in 2005, Wolter and Ronberts are headed to the winner's circle in pairs driving Wolter and Ronberts are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These two Friesians are considered royalty here. In or out of their stalls they have everyone’s attention. Not only are they beautiful but they are a dream to work around and are very willing to please. They are easy going but can definitely “step up” when asked. I think this is the perfect breed, the perfect balance. We teamed them up in harness on Saturday and they were fantastic. Thank you for these wonderful horses.
3 Years Later..... We are very happy with Wolter and Ronberts. They are very well behaved, eager to please not to mention exceptionally beautiful. Thank you!! Dan & family in Chicago |

Congrats to Elizabeth Aug 1, 2006 Hello Janna I am truly enjoying Warno and he is becoming a magnificent horse with the current trainer. I have cut Warno's tail 3 times as it drapes on the ground. I will have to be cut again or braided up.) Next year we will begin to show him. More important than all of this is his friendship. By working with him and riding, I am now able to walk and no longer trip after the injury which I had [not horse related]. Take care Elizabeth |

sold to PENN I want to let you know how pleased I am with my friesian.
As you are aware, I specialize in hippotherapy. Yesterday my TWH was acting up and needed another horse. Put Lancelot into the program and he was unbelievable!! Kind and gentle to all the kids. Not a mean bone in his body. The kids happen to be autistic and would bump up and down, toss and turn and he just walked on like a good boy not letting anything bother him. I was so very proud. Thank you again for my gentle boy. I put alot of trust in your recommendation and assurance that he would work out.
He is such a sweet boy!! Took him out for his first hack (3 hours) and he did not make 1 bad move. Even jumped his first log:-) The only complaint I have is that he loves me so and pushes everyone else away as he is the "king pin". He is happy and having a great life! Would recommend you to everyone. Robin in Penn |

Congrats to Heather Just a note to say how I feel it was meant to be that I recently found you and your beautiful ranch, and of course my "Zeus" boy. (my new love)...I wasn't really in the market to purchase a Friesian at the present, however after riding Zeus that was it for me. I am truely fulfilling a childhood dream of owning a Fairytale Friesian Stallion and have you to thank. Every time I ride him it becomes clear to me how special a horse he is to me, he is soooo sweet and seems to take care of me. Owning Zeus has given me a sense of contentment and a new positive outlet in addition to being a wife and mother of two precious little girls!! P.S.(Another special perk, I can practice braiding on his enormously long mane so that my girls can enjoy wearing braids in their hair..) Love and thanks, Heather |

Congrats to Nancy in Atlanta!!
Hi Janna, I spent the day with Libbe yesterday and he is a love. Thanks for a great new love in my life!!! I purchased Libbe from you back in September. He has settled in well and I, of course, have fallen hopelessly in love with him. He is representitive of his breed in that he is kind, loving and very intelligent. He makes very rapid gains in training due to his very willing work ethic and intelligence.
19 years later:
Libbe was my first Friesian. He made me fall in love with the breed. He was one in a million. I do love them all but he had the original amazing brain. So smart. So kind. So calm but with great work ethic. You sent me one of the loves of my life and I high hopes for the same experience again. (from BSF) -Thanks Nancy in Atlanta
From the Stable Owner..............................
I own a farm just East of Atlanta in Social Circle GA. One of my dearest friends keeps her horses with me, in my care, and she just bought a 9 year old Friesian Gelding named "Libbe". He arrived from Holland and he is a lovely boy, kind and gentle and so far has acclimated beautifully. Pansy in GA

Congrats to Judy in Virginia! Just a note to let you know that Theo arrived in good shape and he has settled into our farm beautifully. He really is a very sweet guy and is a big hit with all my boarders. Theo seems to be a very bright and willing chap. I've had about 4 rides on him at this point, and every one is better than the last. He has a beatiful head, very nice gaits and a spectacular temperament. Certainly the nicest Friesian we've met so far.I appreciate your donating some of your proceeds to breast cancer research. I am a breast cancer survivor. Thanks -- Judy in Virginia Update, Aug 17, 2005......................... This driving picture is from the first show I took Theo to. We came away with 1st place in almost everything. The judge declared him to be the nicest Friesian she had ever seen and tried to convince me to take him to the big Lorenzo show in NY. Theo also was a demo horse for Paul Maye at the Virginia Equine Extravaganza. It was cool seeing how well he dealt with working on the grounds of a major NASCAR track. Neat horse.
Update Jun 13, 2006..................................... I thought you might like to know that they went out today for the first time as a driving pair and won the Driving Grand Prix (Pairs Horse division) at the Upperville Horse Show. Paul Maye was driving, and man, they flew! -- Judy in Virginia |

Congrats to Friesian Harts of Texas! Janna, Our sweet, sweet, sweet gal arrived today. She stayed a night or two at the Equine Express headquarters and they all fell in love with her as well. She has settled in nicely here this afternoon, and has absolutely the sweetest spirit of any horse that we have ever owned. Amazing.
Thanks again for providing us with this beautiful creation of God!

Congrats to Sarah in Conn.! I just wanted to let you know how Jorrit is doing. When I led him out of the quarantine center a group of people just stared at him and all I could hear was what a beautiful animal he was. I had very high expectations for him and to be honest with you, I didn't think he could possibly live up to them. No horse could be as perfect as I had imagined. I have had many horses and have ridden horses all my life, and I have never known of one such as Jorrit. For starters, his personality is unlike any other horse I have known. He is so friendly, smart, cute, funny, and alert it is unbelieveable. He is literally a large black lab puppy. He follows me around everywhere. As soon as I leave his sight he whinnies as if to say what could possibly be more important than playing with me at this moment? He walks from the pasture to the barn with no lead rope and follows me and does not stop for anything. He stops when I stop. He goes when I go. I rode him for the first time and have decided he is the best horse I have ridden ever, and the unbelievable thing is he is only 3 years old. He has apparently had excellent training over in the Netherlands because he is very obedient and extremely intellingent. He is so smooth to ride. Everybody loves him and he is safe enough for kids as well. And of course he is absolutely gorgeous with excellent conformation and a beautiful, long mane, tail, and forelock. He loves having his hair braided. Just watching him in the pasture is amazing. Yesterday, there were some of our friends here to see him and he was in the pasture doing a piaffe. He had his head high and nose tucked in as if to say, look at me, I am beautiful. I just wanted to really tell you how happy I am with him, and how accurate you were in understanding what I wanted in my friesian and delivering exactly that. Thanks again for everything!!!! -Sarah in Conneticut |
